How to Remove Permanent Hair Dye Without Bleach!

Lately I have been dealing with an issue that I have dealt with many times before. It is a common occurance for those retro types who cant decide if they're a Marilyn or a Bettie. The issue, How to get black permanent hair dye out of your hair without bleach! I'll admit, that there isn't really a perfect solution, but there are a bunch of things you can try.

Things to try in order from most to least effective:

1. Color Opps ($13 at CVS)
2. Loreal Hair Dye remover
3. random combinations of vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice and olive oil
4. Clarifying shampoos (Prell, Head and shoulders...)
5. Sun In spray

This is my hair after my first application of color opps. I naturaly have blonde hair and have been dying it black for nearly 2 years.

Summer is Here!
It's officially summer when the car shows start and you can't avoid hearing the radio commercials about Ink and Iron and The Hootenanny! I personally can't wait to step into my Bettie Page Clothing, bathing suit and get in my pool!

Had an interview that might get me a reception job at the True Religion office! I might also get placed at Red Bull or something else. I should know by tomorrow! :) They're looking for creative jobs to place me at, so thats kind of rad!

One of my more recent obsessions. Kelly green kicks! H&M for like $12.00!
These are the perfect tennis shoes for all your vintage weekend shindigs (except the fancy ones). I wore these to the Culver City Car Show this past weekend and theyre super comfy for walking around while vintage shopping!
How much do I love Audrey Hepburn! Everything about her is amazing and I someday hope to be as calssy, beautiful, funny, stylish and talented as she was.

Since yesterday was Mother's Day, I am going to make that statement about all the women in my life who truely have been wonderful. My mom isn't here with me anymore, but I can't even imagine who I would be today if it weren't for her influence when i was young. My mother is the most classy, elegant, beautiful and strong person I have ever known and I hope that I can live up to everything that she was. Also, Kathy and Barbara, thank you for everything. I don't know where I would be without everything you have done for me. Thank you for all your wisdom and advice, comfort and help through everything. I love all my moms!
Totally belated, I know!

It seems that my newsletter writing days are numbered. In stead of writing the fashion newsletter for work, I will just have to write more here. I guess writing about whatever I want to whenever I want to and only when I want to, will be nice.

LA is such a weird place to spend your life...
Everyone wants to be famous for something and too many people think they already are. Working at restaurants where you get asked to be in movies, working retial where your regular clients are celebrities, and comforting your best friend when a good friend, who happens to be a famous musician dies...these things aren't normal.

My little taste of the fashion industry has unfortunately become something of a joke and for whatever reason the people who it should most bother, aren't the least bit phased. Everyone wants their piece and unfortunately, too many people choose to step on the little people to get it. Now is the time to figure out where I'm going and remember where I came from. Despite the bull shit, I still love LA.

Marilyn Monroe

There are a million reasons why I love Marilyn Monroe, but one of them is her style and that body she dressed with it. I admitedly covet just about everything she has ever worn in a movie or photo shoot.
Everyone’s favorite “dumb blonde” is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful women who ever lived and she was by no means a size 0. Miss Monroe was famous for her curves and sex appeal…did you hear that media? Famous for her CURVES! Marilyn was sewen into her costumes and left little to the imagination, but she rocked the hell out of everything she wore with her (old school sizing) size 12 ass! If only more young women would aspire to a healthier body type like Marilyn Monroe, than to aspire to the unobtainable body of Kate Moss.

Jackie O

LOVE HER! I started reading a book called “What Would Jackie Do?” It’s basically how to be like Jackie O in all aspects of life. Some of it sounds a little bit low for someone as classy as my favorite first lady, but its fun to read just the same.

I Might have to write my next newsletter for 365HANGERS.com about Jackie and her timeless style. The big glasses, pill box hats and designer labels are just part of what made her an icon. Its a shame that women don’t dress like this anymore.

My new favorite warm weather outfit! (Top by H&M, Shorts by Forever 21) Not sure why my shorts look blue in this picture, they’re actually pretty green.

This is my first post, so I guess we'll start off with who I am. I am an LA pin up girl and vintage aficionado, currently working in the fashion industry. I have a Vintage LA blog on Tumblr, but I messed it up, so I'm kind of starting over here. I go to a lot of vintage events around LA and post reviews and photos to my blog. I hope anyone who stumbles uppon this doesn't hate it.
